My original artwork ranges from minimalistic graphite drawings on paper, to complex, multi-layered mixed media paintings on canvas, wood and concrete. Each piece is a routous argument in contrast and texture, with graphite as the fomentor.
In the drawings, parallel lines are used to create distance and direction. These lines are opposed by chaotic, graphite freeforms. Intricately shaded, they defy direction and ignore the rules of distance and perspective.
A new dimension is added to this argument when paint is applied. I employ a variety techniques during the painting process. I use everything from traditional painting tools, to found objects that enable me to build the desired textures . The combination of graphite and paint can be viewed as either as battle between mediums, or a harmonious blend. I invite you to browse through my growing catalog of work. Examine each piece and chose for yourself.
