*This painting is currently on display in the People’s Gallery Exhibition for 2022 through 2024. It will be available for purchase in 2023. Located in Austin’s City Hall, the People’s Gallery is an annual public showing of carefully selected works by top local artists.

The idea for this painting was sparked with a thoughtful gift from my oldest son. A miniature desktop model of a majestic bald eagle. Affectionately known as “Mighty Eagle”, the model became my muse for this piece. Conceptual studies ranged from detailed facial sketches to full wingspan “attack” drawings. In the end, it was a single talon that captured my attention.

Painted on a 16x20x2 inch gallery wrap canvas, this piece remains unframed and ready to hang. It is initialed on the lower right corner and titled with full signature on the back.
